White Painted IV

juglet

Body, base and handle fragment from a juglet. Globular body, rounded base. Vertical handle, oval in section, to shoulder, inserted through wall at lower end. Decorated with matt light to dark brown paint in the multiple wavy line style typical of Red-on-Black and Red-on-Red wares. On body, as preserved, two sets of four horizontal and vertical lines meeting but not crossing below handle and on base. Probably applied with a multiple brush. Surface well smoothed. Drawn.
