Rim, neck, handle and upper body fragment from a very large, heavy jug. Cylindrical neck, round horizontal mouth with flaring (or everted) rounded rim. Low vertical handle, oval in section, from mid-neck to shoulder, probably inserted through wall at lower end. Large pierced lug (or secondary handle) at neck-base on front of vessel. Incised and relief decoration. Multiple parallel deeply cut horizontal lines on surface of both handle and lug. High vertical relief ridge with deeply cut parallel horizontal incisions on front of neck above lug. At the top of this ridge, just below rim, a protruding element is broken away. Two parallel angled lines in relief on upper neck above handle. On sides of neck two high relief rings and another on shoulder. Other relief elements visible at break below lug and on side of body. A large mass of clay (different to that used for the vessel itself) was added to the interior of the upper body at the neck/body join. The vessel broke along the edge of this clay mass, perhaps where it was smoothed around the join before the neck was added. Drawn.
